Dear Residents,
We wanted to provide another update as we continue working through this difficult situation.
Iowa Building Access
If you are planning to retrieve belongings from an approved-access unit, we strongly encourage you to come today if at all possible. We will be able to escort residents to Units 100-105 and 200-211 in the building to retrieve their belongings.
At this time, we do not know what additional restrictions may be imposed by the City, Fire Department, Building & Safety, or other agencies on Monday or Tuesday. While we hope to continue providing access where permitted, we cannot guarantee future access opportunities.
Today is the best opportunity we can confidently offer.
If access remains available in the coming days, we will do everything we can to accommodate residents and schedule access times. However, because this remains an active disaster site, conditions can change quickly, and the building could become fully inaccessible at any time.
Temporary Storage Assistance
Many residents have asked about storage options.
We have secured a storage container at another location, and Home Depot has generously donated a truck for today. We also have team members on-site who can assist with transporting belongings.
Storage space is extremely limited and will only be available as a temporary solution, but we wanted to offer this option to residents who have an immediate need.
We also feel it is important to note that fencing has now been installed around the building. While this will help secure the property, the security personnel currently on-site will eventually be leaving. As a result, the more belongings residents can retrieve now, the better.
Everton Internet Service
We are aware that the internet service appears to be down at the Everton Building.
We are currently working with Spectrum to determine the cause. Based on the circumstances, we believe the issue may be related to fire damage rather than a simple service interruption, but we hope to have more information later today.
In the meantime, we will be opening the clubhouse at Sunrise Village, located directly across the street at 3993 Iowa Avenue. The clubhouse has Wi-Fi, tables, and seating available for residents who need internet access for work, school, finals, or other immediate needs.
Housing Assistance Survey
For residents displaced from the Iowa Building, we ask that you please complete the Google Form https://forms.gle/YgAMATs2czAS2Cps7.
The information you provide will help us better understand your housing needs and allow us to coordinate assistance more effectively. We have already identified some potential housing resources, but having accurate information from residents will help us prioritize and match people with available options.
Whether you need temporary housing for a few days, housing through the end of the quarter, summer housing, or longer-term relocation assistance, please complete the form so we can better understand your situation.
UCR has also been opening bed spaces for UCR students through the end of the semester. If this is something you are interested in, please visit their form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdVAHx6pq_1G02I8avBMBpWNtw3VBhaS3kHXV0yN77IPrecqA/viewform)

Additional Housing Opportunities
For Everton residents, some apartments have reserved bed spaces that are currently unoccupied. If you have an available bed space and would be willing to discuss making it available to assist a displaced resident, please let us know.
We recognize that residents have a wide variety of housing needs right now, and we are simply trying to identify every possible option that may help members of our community.
Thank You
We know that this has been an incredibly stressful and emotional experience. We are working as quickly as possible to gather information, coordinate resources, and provide assistance as new information becomes available.
We are deeply sorry that this has happened, and while we cannot solve every problem immediately, please know that our team is doing everything we can to help residents navigate this difficult situation.
As always, if you need assistance, please continue to email info@urgliving.com.
Sincerely,
URG Property Management
